Lenders RBL, BoM plan dollar bond issuance

RBL and Bank of Maharashtra are in the final stages of marketing dollar-denominated bonds to international investors. The lenders are seeking to raise between USD 300 million and USD 500 million each through the issuance of these instruments.RBL has established a USD 1 Billion medium-term note (MTN) programme, while the Bank of Maharashtra has activated a USD 500 million MTN programme to facilitate the move.The banks plan to use the proceeds from these bond sales to refinance short-term loans taken to provide leverage to non-resident Indian clients.

Between Feb 2010 and Feb 2022, RBL Bank had attracted about USD 1000-M from Gaja Capital, Samara Capital, Elephant Capital, ICICI Bank, EQT Private Capital Asia, IFC and others.For FY26, RBL Bank had reported about INR 14,336 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 822 Cr in PAT.
