NLC raises Rs.500-Cr through commercial papers

Neyveli-headquartered lignite mining and power generation company NLC India has raised INR 500 crore through commercial paper. The company issued 10,000 commercial paper at a face value of INR 500,000 each.Founded in 1956, NLC India is a Navratna public-sector enterprise under the coal ministry, operating with an installed power-generation capacity of 8,405 MW and a mining capacity of 59.1 million tonnes per annum.The company intends to use this funding as it pursues an investment plan of INR 1.25 lakh crore by 2030 to expand its operational capacity. The company is focused on increasing its mining capacity to 104.35 million tonnes per annum by 2030 and expanding its operational renewable-energy capacity to over 10 GW through its subsidiary, NLC India Renewables.

For FY26, NLC had reported about INR 10,864 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 2,525 Cr in PAT.
