Reliance Industries to raise Rs.12,500-Cr via 5-yr bonds

Reliance Industries is raising INR.12,500-Cr through a five-year bond issue. The transaction is being arranged by a group of lenders, including Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Yes Bank.The bond issue consists of an INR 10,000-Cr base size with an INR 2,500-Cr greenshoe option. Of this, INR 3,000-Cr of the issue has been placed with anchor investors, and the remaining portion has been fully subscribed. The bonds are expected to be priced at approximately 7.47%, with the transaction scheduled to close on September 18.This is the first major domestic bond market activity for Reliance Industries since 2023. While Life Insurance Corporation of India was a significant participant in the company's previous 10-year bond issuance, it is not a primary investor in this current five-year offering.
