Tata Power in talks to raise $450-M through 5-yr ECBs

Mumbai-based Tata Power is in talks with banks to raise USD 450 million through an external commercial borrowing facility. The five-year loan is intended to support the company’s regular business operations. The transaction involves pledging shares of the company’s subsidiaries located in Indonesia and Singapore as collateral.Tata Power specializes in electricity generation, transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV charging infrastructure, and solar manufacturing, serving residential, commercial, and industrial customers across India and international markets.The company aims to use the proceeds to support these growth initiatives and diversify its funding sources beyond domestic bond and bank markets, while also managing loan refinancings related to its capital expenditure plans.
