Shriram finance raises $1.3 B from foreign banks

Mumbai-based Shriram Finance has raised USD 1.3 Billion from half a dozen foreign banks, including DBS Bank, HSBC, Standard Chartered, and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.The non-banking financial company plans to use the funds to reduce its borrowing costs. This move follows a rating upgrade for the company that occurred after the Japanese banking major, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, acquired a significant stake in the firm.

Between Jun 2004 and Mar 2025, Shriram finance had attracted about $ 2288 M from Reliance Capital, FMO, ChrysCapital, TPG Capital, Piramal Enterprises, IFC, ADB, Others.For FY25, Shriram finance had reported about INR 48,133 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 10,025 Cr in PAT.
