Alkem Medtech to buy 55% stake in Swedish medical devices maker Occlutech for Rs.1,074-Cr
Mumbai-based Alkem Medtech , a wholly-owned medical devices subsidiary of Alkem Laboratories, has executed a binding offer to buy a 55% stake in Helsingborg, Sweden-based Occlutech for EUR 99.4 million (about INR 1,074 crore).Occlutech develops, manufactures, and commercialises medical devices for congenital heart disease, stroke prevention, and heart failure and is claimed to be the second-largest company in Europe in the minimally invasive cardiac implants segment and the third-largest globally. It operates manufacturing and research and development facilities in Germany and Turkey, a global distribution hub in Sweden, and clinical operations in the USA. In 2025, it recorded a revenue of EUR 49.4 million (unaudited).The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) acted as an advisor in this transaction.
