API-maker Akums Pharma to acquire Oriflame India's manufacturing biz for Rs.56-Cr

Delhi-based, publicly listed Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Pure and Cure Healthcare, is to acquire the manufacturing business of New Delhi-based Oriflame India , for INR 56-Cr in cash.The acquisition includes two manufacturing facilities located in Roorkee and Noida, as well as a leased warehouse in Noida. The facilities provide manufacturing capabilities across wellness, skincare, hair care, and colour cosmetics.Oriflame India sells skincare, makeup, and wellness items through a direct-selling business model, allowing independent sellers to run their own micro-businesses. Akums develops and produces medicines, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and health products for other healthcare brands. It plans to use this acquisition to diversify its business operations beyond pharmaceuticals into high-growth segments such as colour cosmetics to serve both Indian and global brands.
