Autocomp maker Hero Motors eyes technology acquisitions post IPO

Noida-based autocomp maker Hero Motors is planning to pursue acquisitions following its proposed INR 1,000-Cr IPO, with up to INR 150-Cr from the fresh issue proceeds allocated for acquisition initiatives. The company is exploring targets in the fields of controllers, aviation powertrains, and high-end machining, as well as businesses that offer established global customer relationships.Hero Motors specializes in automotive technology and is currently developing complete electric-drive systems. The firm intends to use the capital from its IPO to scale operations and acquire external capabilities where Indian suppliers currently face limitations, particularly for global markets.

In Dec 2022, Hero Motors had attracted about $ 18 M from GEF Capital Partners.For FY25, Hero Motors had reported about INR 898 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 24 Cr in PAT.
