BillDesk to acquire French co. Worldline’s India payment biz

Payments firm BillDesk is to acquire the Indian payment operations of French payments major Worldline SA . The transaction is valued at an estimated equity of Euro 60 million and is expected to close in the second half of 2026. Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co acted as legal counsel to BillDesk, while EY served as the diligence adviser. BNP Paribas acted as sole financial advisor, Hogan Lovells acted as international legal counsel and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas acted as Indian legal counsel to Worldline SA.Worldline will receive cash proceeds from this divestment, intended to strengthen the group's financial profile and support capital redeployment towards its core businesses. In May last year, Worldline received approval from the Reserve Bank of India to operate as a cross-border payment aggregator in India.
