Gurugram-based Highway Roop Precision Technologies , backed by the Carlyle Group, has acquired Bengaluru-based Chamundi Die Cast .Founded in 1985 by Y. Ghouse Khan, Chamundi Die Cast makes complex, precision machined aluminium die cast components for automotive and industrial applications. The company’s portfolio includes components for electric vehicles and serves customers across India, North America and Europe. Promoters of Chamundi will retain a stake in the combined entity.Highway Roop plans to use this acquisition to build a scaled and diversified precision manufacturing platform. The firm aims to leverage Chamundi’s integrated aluminium die casting and precision machining capabilities to provide a wider range of engineered solutions to its global customers, particularly in torque and control applications.Additionally, the deal provides the IPO-bound Highway Roop with a manufacturing base in South India.
