Info Edge to acquire residual 45% stake in edtech co. Coding Ninjas for Rs.40-Cr

Publicly listed Info Edge (India) is to acquire the remaining 45.36% stake in Gurugram-based edtech company Coding Ninjas for INR 39.9 crore in an all-cash transaction. The acquisition will be executed in multiple tranches, with 25% of the consideration to be paid upon the closing of the share purchase agreement and the remaining 75% to be disbursed in three equal instalments between 2027 and 2029.Founded in 2016 by Ankur Singla, Kannu Mittal, and Dhawal Parate, Coding Ninjas offers coding bootcamps and certification courses in subjects such as software development, data science, and AI. Post-acquisition, the company’s founders will remain employed by Info Edge. Info Edge plans to leverage business synergies between its job portal, Naukri, and Coding Ninjas, specifically to develop mini-AI courses for its users and to drive growth and profitability for the edtech platform.Info Edge first invested in the firm during a Series A round in 2020. The firm subsequently increased its stake to 51% in 2022 through a series of primary and secondary investments.Coding Ninjas reported a turnover of INR 97.4 crore and a net loss of INR 13.4 crore for FY 2026.

Between Feb 2020 and Oct 2022, Coding Ninjas had attracted about $22 M from Info Edge.For FY25, Coding Ninjas had reported about INR 67 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 30 Cr in Net Loss.
