Malaysia’s IHH to up stake in Fortis Healthcare to 51% in 3-5 yrs
Malaysia-based IHH Healthcare plans to increase its stake in Gurugram-headquartered Fortis Healthcare to 51% over the next three to five years. The firm also intends to expand the total bed capacity of its Indian operations to about 10,000 beds by 2031. This development follows a Supreme Court decision on September 25, 2026, which disposed of a special leave petition challenging a Delhi High Court order regarding a forensic audit of Fortis Healthcare.Fortis Healthcare, a hospital chain, operates an integrated healthcare delivery network. The firm plans to use the projected expansion and increased stake to integrate its Fortis and Gleneagles platforms further to address the demand for healthcare services in India.
For FY25, Fortis Healthcare had reported about INR 1,446 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 64 Cr in PAT.
