Novartis India to acquire rights to Minipress drug from Pfizer for Rs.1,250-Cr
ChrysCapital backed, Mumbai-based Novartis India is to acquire the ‘Minipress’ and ‘Minipres’ trademarks from US-based Pfizer Inc for a total consideration of INR 1,250 crore. The transaction includes the acquisition of the trademarks registered in India and specific related intellectual property rights.The Minipress XL drug, which contains prazosin, is indicated for the treatment of hypertension and the management of urinary symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia. The brand recorded revenue of INR 228.6 crore for the year ended July 2026 and demonstrated a compound annual growth rate of 6.3 per cent over the past four years.
