Serene Productions picks 50% in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for Rs.1,000-Cr

Adar Poonawalla-led Serene Productions has invested INR 1,000 crore in Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and its digital content arm, Dharmatic Entertainment for a 50% stake. Karan Johar will retain the remaining 50%.The Raine Group served as the exclusive financial advisor to Dharma. AZB & Partners served as the legal counsel to Dharma Productions. JSA was the legal counsel to Serene Productions.Karan Johar will spearhead the company's creative vision as the executive chairman while CEO Apoorva Mehta will oversee operations.
