Varun to acquire South African beverage brand Twizza for Rs.1,119-Cr

Publicly listed Varun Beverages, through its South African subsidiary The Beverages Company Proprietary Ltd (Bevco), is to acquire 100% share capital of South Africa-based Twizza for ZAR 2,095 million (INR 1,118.7 crore) in cash.Twizza is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of its own-branded non-alcoholic beverages. The company operates three manufacturing facilities located in Cape Town, Queenstown, and Middelburg, with a combined annual production capacity of 100 million cases. Additionally, Twizza has backward integration facilities at all its plants, including 5 preform and 1 closure line. For FY25, it reported a turnover of ZAR 1,689 million (INR 901 crore). The deal is expected to be completed before June 30, 2026.This move follows Varun Beverages' acquisition of The Beverage Company, South Africa, and its wholly-owned subsidiaries, BevCo, in March 2024, which expanded its presence in franchised territories across South Africa, Lesotho, and Eswatini, and distribution rights in Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, and Madagascar.
