Venture debt cos. BlackSoil, Caspian complete merger to create Rs.1,900-Cr NBFC
Venture debt firms BlackSoil Capital and Caspian Debt have completed the formation of a non-banking financial company (NBFC) operating as BlackSoil Capital Pvt Ltd. The combined entity now boasts assets under management (AUM) of INR 1,900 crore and has collectively disbursed debt capital to over 550 companies.BlackSoil Capital's portfolio includes HomeLane, mCaffeine, LeverageEdu, and MobiKwik. BlackSoil Capital will provide customised alternative credit solutions to growth-stage startups and NBFCs, while Caspian Debt will target investments in small and medium enterprises. The merged entity plans to target investments across sectors such as agritech, healthcare, consumer services, fintech, and cleantech, with a goal of achieving 25% CAGR growth in its AUM over the next few years.Prior to the merger, BlackSoil had disbursed over INR 7,800 crore in credit to 270 companies, and Caspian's debt investments totalled INR 4,000 crore.
