Agri-tech firm Rize raises $31-M in Series B from BNP Paribas, Temasek, others
Singapore- and Bengaluru-based Rize has raised USD 31 million in a Series B round consisting of equity and debt financing. The equity investment included participation from BNP Paribas Asset Management Alts, Temasek, The Rockefeller Foundation, and Breakthrough Energy Ventures. Debt financing was provided by United Overseas Bank, Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, and Temasek Foundation.Founded by Bengaluru-based Dhruv Sawhney, Rize focuses on sustainable rice cultivation. The firm collaborates with farmers to improve crop yields and lower emissions through technology-driven agricultural practices. Rize intends to use the fresh capital to expand its operations, strengthen its technology platform, and support the adoption of sustainable farming practices in its target markets.The firm currently maintains operations in Southeast Asia and plans to deepen its presence in Vietnam and Indonesia. Rize is evaluating entry into additional geographies, with India identified as one of the shortlisted markets. This round follows the firm's $14-M Series A funding in 2024, which was co-led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures, GenZero, Temasek, and Wavemaker Impact.
