US-based credit intelligence startup Kaaj raises $3.8 M led by Kindred Ventures
San Francisco, CA (USA) and India-based Kaaj , an agentic AI credit intelligence platform, has raised USD 3.8 million in seed funding led by Kindred Ventures, with participation from Better Tomorrow Ventures, Karman Ventures, Pythia Ventures, Coughdrop Capital, and angels including Soups Ranjan (Sardine AI), Rahul Ramesh (Brex), Remy Carole (TreasuryPrime), Sip Jiyane (Affirm), Steven Ma (Pony Money), Adam Jackson (Braintrust Network), and Aadik Shekhar.Founded in 2024 by Utsav Shah and Shivi Sharma, Kaaj's platform deploys AI agents to automate the credit analysis process, including business verification, cash flow analysis, asset valuation, financial analysis, and risk assessment.This automation reduces the time required for underwriting from days to under three minutes, providing decision-ready analysis that integrates into existing loan origination systems. The platform also supports brokers with intelligent lender matching and claims to have processed over USD 5 Billion in loan applications.The company plans to use the new capital to accelerate product development and expand its reach across the USD 1.7 trillion U.S. small-business lending market and the USD 1.3 trillion equipment finance market.
