8X Ventures makes first close of Rs.200-Cr deep-tech fund at Rs.60-Cr
Chennai- and Dubai-based 8X Ventures has made the first close of its INR 200 crore deep-tech fund at INR 60 crore. The fund plans to invest in 18-20 deep-tech startups over the next three years, offering initial cheques ranging from INR 2 crore to 5 crore each and total investments of up to INR 20 crore each in about 10 startups.The fund focuses on WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), Industry 4.0, Advanced Computing, Biotech, and B2B Enterprise SaaS.Established in 2021, 8X Ventures invests in startups that transform industries and economies through a strong scientific and research foundation. It claims to have delivered a 2.1X MOIC (40+% IRR) since 2022, with portfolio companies including Solinas Integrity, D-Nome, Lightspeed Photonics, XYMA Analytics, Zenpulsar, and Pantherun Technologies.
