Actis appoints Ambit to restart sale process for roads platform Nxt-Infra Trust

Infrastructure investor Actis is looking to exit its Mumbai-based, listed roads platform, Nxt-Infra Trust , either fully or partially. The firm has appointed Ambit as the advisor to manage the transaction.Nxt-Infra Trust, sponsored by Actis Highway Infra, operates a portfolio of six project SPVs comprising 14 road stretches that span over 2,000 lane kilometres across Delhi, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra. The portfolio consists of a mix of toll assets, where revenue is linked to traffic volume, and annuity projects. Actis acquired this road portfolio from Welspun Enterprises in June 2022 at an enterprise valuation of approximately $775-M.The InvIT was listed on the National Stock Exchange in July 2024 after raising INR 1,520-Cr in primary capital, with INR 1,120-Cr contributed by the sponsor and the remainder by domestic institutional investors. The sponsor group holds an 86% stake in the trust.
