Affordable home loans player Truhome raises addnl Rs.417-Cr from Warburg Pincus
Chennai-based Truhome Finance Ltd (formerly Shriram Housing Finance) has raised an additional INR 417 crore from its majority shareholder, Warburg Pincus. Following this latest round of funding, Warburg Pincus's shareholding in the company increased from 98.39% to 98.59%. As an affordable housing finance company, Truhome Finance recently surpassed INR 20,000 crore in Assets Under Management (AUM). With the latest capital infusion, the company's net worth now exceeds INR 4,000 crore.The proceeds from the fresh issue will be used to expand Truhome's business and support its growth to achieve an AUM of INR 25,000 crore. The firm also plans to expand its presence and extend affordable housing finance to semi-urban and rural India. The company intends to increase its branch network from the current 200 to nearly 250 by the end of FY26, with an additional 70 to 75 branches in FY27.
Between Mar 2012 and May 2024, Shriram Housing Finance had attracted about USD 585 M from Warburg Pincus, IFC and Valiant Capital.
