Agritech start-up Farmtheory raises $1.45-M from Merak Ventures

Farmtheory , a Bangalore-based B2B agri-food start-up, has attracted USD 1.45 million (about INR 12 crore) from Merak Ventures. The Y-Combinator-backed Farmtheory will use the new funds to expand its supply arm, enhance its technological infrastructure, and bolster its supply chain.Farmtheory aims to help minimise food waste at the source, boosting farm yields and delivering quality ingredients to commercial kitchens. It acquires “freeform” produce directly from farmers and supplies it to a range of buyers, from cloud kitchens and catering companies to food processors and restaurants
