Agritech startup Verdant Impact raises $3-M seed round
Jaipur-based Verdant Impact has raised USD 3 M (approximately INR 27 Cr) in a seed round led by Unicorn India Ventures with participation from Infynyte Club, Yash Kotak (founder of Jumper.ai), Alok Soni (Mud House Capital), and a-IDEA NAARM (Association for Innovation Development of Entrepreneurship in Agriculture; the startup incubator of ICAR-NAARM).Founded in 2020 by Maya Zeph and Manish Kumar, Verdant Impac t is an agritech startup focused on bovine genetics and livestock management. The company aims to provide modern technology to rural farmers for healthier and more productive livestock through AI, IoT, and biotechnology, improving genetic diversity, animal health monitoring, and productivity. It operates the livestock health monitoring platform Pashu AI and the herd management platform Bharat Pashudhan, in addition to running the India Methane Mission.The new capital will be used to enhance the startup’s research and development capabilities, advance the Pashu.AI platform, expand its team, and upgrade its existing blockchain-powered tech infrastructure. Verdant Impact also plans to use a portion of the funds to expand its operations across North and North-East India.
