Alibaba unit offloads Paytm shares worth Rs.2,949-Cr
Resilient Asset Management, a holding firm owned by promoter Vijay Shekhar Sharma, acting on behalf of Alibaba Group affiliate Antfin, has sold 1.92 crore shares in Noida-based fintech company Paytm in a block deal valued at about INR 2,948.9 crore. The transaction was executed at INR 1,535.10 per share.As of June 2026, Antfin held a 10.03% stake in Paytm on a fully diluted basis. Post this transaction, it will hold a 7.2% stake in the company.Resilient had acquired the stake from the Netherlands-based Antfin Holdings in 2023 following change in the geopolitical equations between India and China. While Resilient holds the equity and voting rights, the economic value of the shares remains with Antfin.
Alibaba first invested in PayTM in Feb 2015. It subsequently sold shares in Jan 2023, Feb 2023, Mar 2023, Aug 2023, May 2025, and Aug 2025.For FY26, PayTM had reported about INR 5,825 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 67 Cr in PAT.
