Animal nutrition-focused biotech startup Elmentoz Research attracts $4.5 M
Bhubaneswar-based Elmentoz Research has raised USD 4.5 million in a seed funding round from angel investors in India and Norway.Founded in December 2022 by Dr. Jayashankar Das and Dr. Padmaja Mohanty, Elmentoz is a biotechnology startup developing smart feed and alternative protein solutions for animal nutrition in the poultry, aquaculture, and pet food sectors. Its technology platform integrates genomics, proteomics, automation, and manufacturing to create protein formulations, immune-focused premixes, and functional oil ingredients.The firm will use the fresh funds to establish a BSF (black soldier fly)-based smart protein facility. The funds will also be used to scale its automated manufacturing facility, expand its ELGROW and ELTIDE product lines, advance antimicrobial peptide research, build international partnerships, and strengthen research, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
