Artha Venture Fund removes blockchain startup Hornet’s CEO Souvik Haldar alleging financial miscondu
Early-stage venture capital firm Artha Venture Fund has initiated the removal of co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Souvik Haldar of Kolkata-based blockchain startup Hornet .The VC firm’s managing director, Anirudh Damani, took to social media platform X to share that the investor has exercised shareholder rights to remove the CEO alleging that Haldar misappropriated company funds and stole sensitive data.Hornet is a crypto and dark web forensics platform actively involved with government agencies on several projects. It raised INR 4 crore in seed funding from Artha Venture Fund in February last year. Artha currently holds about 8% equity in the company and has disbursed INR 2 crore.
