B Capital closes tech-focused third early-stage fund at $500-M
Global multi-stage venture capital firm B Capital has closed its third early-stage fund at USD 500 million. The fund, Ascent Fund III, intends to support companies in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI) and other technologies.Founded in 2015 by Eduardo Saverin, Ravi Ganguly, and Howard Morgan, B Capital manages more than USD 12 Billion in assets. The firm invests in companies across technology, healthcare, and climate sectors, maintaining a strategic partnership with Boston Consulting Group. The new fund will primarily invest in seed, Series A, and Series B rounds in North America and Asia.Ascent Fund III is nearly twice the size of the firm's previous early-stage fund, which closed at USD 254 million in July 2022. The fund has already deployed capital into more than 20 companies, including Apptronik, Havoc AI, and Star Catcher.
