Bamboo products seller Amwoodo raises $4-M led by Rainmatter Capital
Kolkata-based bamboo products maker Amwoodo has raised USD 4 million in its pre-Series A round led by Rainmatter, with participation from Adventz Group, Thinkuvate, and Caspian.Founded in 2019 by Subhrakanti Das, Agni Mitra and Avijit Rajak, Amwoodo offers bamboo-based alternatives to replace plastic products.The fresh funds will be used by the firm to scale up its production capacity, strengthen its direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketplace Ecoconscious, and launch new plastic-alternative brands.
Between Jan 2024 and Apr 2024, Amwoodo had attracted about USD 2.2 M from Rainmatter Capital and N+1 Capital.For FY24, Amwoodo had reported about INR 22 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 1.3 Cr in PAT.
