Mumbai-based specialty drugmaker BDR Pharmaceuticals is in talks to acquire a controlling stake in the Himachal Pradesh-based contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Acme Formula tion from private equity firm PAG , which purchased its position in 2021 through its PAG Asia III buyout fund for $145-M. The proposed transaction is expected to value the company between USD 200-M and USD 250-M.Founded in 2005, Acme provides integrated research and development, product development, and contract manufacturing services to domestic and multinational pharmaceutical companies. The group includes Acme Formulation, Immacule Lifesciences, Acme Generics, and Veritas Research. Its facilities are approved by regulators including the US FDA, UK MHRA, EU GMP, and Health Canada.Founder and managing director Viral Shah, who holds a significant minority interest, is expected to remain with the company as a minority shareholder and continue in his leadership role.
In Jul 2021, Acme Formulation had attracted about $ 145 M from Pacific Alliance Group.For FY25, Acme Formulation had reported about INR 210 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 32 Cr in PAT.
