Bharti Airtel's data centre arm Nxtra attracts $710-M from PE investors

Gurugram-based Nxtra Data Ltd , the data centre arm of Bharti Airtel, has raised USD 710 million from Alpha Wave Global, Carlyle Group and Anchorage Capital. Alpha Wave Global invested USD 435 million, Carlyle contributed USD 240 million and Anchorage Capital provided USD 35 million. The promoter Airtel Group will invest USD 290 million as part of the same round.Founded in 2013, Nxtra offers data centre services to Indian and global enterprises, hyperscalers, startups, SMEs (small and medium enterprises) and governments. It currently operates with about 300 MW capacity and aims to increase this to 1 GW in the coming years. Post transaction, Bharti Airtel will maintain a controlling stake in Nxtra.The new funds will be used to expand the firm’s data center capacity and improve services for enterprises, hyperscalers, and government clients.

In Jul 2020, Nxtra Data had attracted about USD 235 M from Carlyle.For FY25, Nxtra Data had reported about INR 2,079 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 224 Cr in PAT.
