Bhavish Aggarwal’s AI-startup Krutrim raises $50-M; turns unicorn
Artificial Intelligence (AI) startup Krutrim , launched by cab hailing firm Ola’s founder Bhavish Aggarwal, has raised USD 50 million at a valuation of USD 1 Billion. The round was led by Matrix Partners India and others.Krutrim, ‘artificial’ in Sanskrit, will come in two models: a base model named Krutrim trained on 2 trillion tokens and unique datasets, and a larger, more complex model called Krutrim Pro, launching in the next quarter for advanced problem-solving and task execution capabilities. Krutrim claims to understand 22 Indian languages and generate content in about 10, including Marathi, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Odia, Gujarati, and Malayalam.
