BII, Denmark’s CIP launch $300-M renewable energy platform ‘North Star’ in India

British International Investment (BII) and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Growth Markets Fund II, have launched a $300-M renewable energy platform in India named North Star. Both BII and CIP have each committed investments of $150-M to the platform.North Star will build and scale renewable projects while mobilising additional private capital to address the country’s clean energy financing gap. The platform plans to invest across solar, wind, hybrid renewable energy, and storage projects. These developments are intended to generate more than 4 million MWh of clean energy annually and avoid approximately 4 million tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
