BII exits Rainbow Hospitals by selling shares worth Rs.1,079-Cr; registers 8.7x return

British International Investment (BII), formerly CDC Group, has sold its entire 14.45% stake in publicly listed Rainbow Children's Medicare Limited fetching INR 1,078.49 crore. The sale of the 9-year-old investment fetched BII an estimated 8.67x return.

From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: In Aug 2013, CDC Group had invested INR 105 crore for 22% stake in Rainbow Hospitals. In Jan 2016, it invested additional INR 111.03 Cr for a 10.89% stake. The company went public in May 2022, as part of which CDC had made a part exit.
