Blue-collar workers platform Apna.co increases Series C round size to $100-M
Apna.co, a Bangalore-based professional network for grey and blue collar workers, has increated the size of its Series C round to USD 100 million, led by Tiger Global. The round also saw participation from Owl Ventures, Insight Partners, Sequoia Capital India, Maverick Ventures and GSV Ventures. With this round, Apna has attained a valuation of USD 1.1 billion, becoming a Unicorn. The company plans to use the funding for strengthening its presence in existing 28 cities and expand pan-India further besides investing on their edtech platform for skilling, for hiring talent and building engineering and product capabilities further. Apna plans to venture into the US, South East Asia, and Middle East and Africa starting early next year.
From the Venture Intelligence PE-VC Deal Database: In Jun-21, Apna.co had raised USD 70 million led by Insight Partners and Tiger Global. Existing investors Sequoia Capital India, Lightspeed Ventures, Greenoaks Capital and Rocketship VC also participated in the fundraise. The two-year old startup was reportedly valued at USD 570 million, up five times from its previous round in Mar-21 when it raised USD 12.5 million. In June 2020, Apna had raised $8 million from rocketship.vc,Greenoaks Capital,Lightspeed Ventures and Sequoia Capital India.
