Brookfield Infra, Digital Realty in 50:50 JV to develop, operate data centers in India
Canada-headquartered infrastructure investor Brookfield Asset Management and NYSE-listed Digital Realty have formed a joint venture to develop, own and operate institutional data centers across India. The 50:50 joint venture between Digital Realty, the largest global provider of data center, colocation and interconnection solutions, and Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP will operate under the brand name BAM Digital Realty. BAM Digital Realty intends to acquire land parcels across Indian metros for the development of data center campuses to support the needs of global as well as domestic service providers. The JV expects to design, build and operate sustainable facilities, drawing upon the firms' broader commitments to sustainable operations, including carbon reduction initiatives.
