Brookfield launches $600-M renewable energy platform Lumara

Global investment firm Brookfield through its Catalytic Transition Fund has launched Lumara, a renewable energy platform in India. The platform intends to deploy USD 600 million to accelerate the development of clean energy projects.Lumara is anchored by an initial portfolio of more than 6 GW, which includes solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). It aims to mitigate challenges such as delays in power purchase agreement contracting, grid connectivity issues, and land acquisition.The platform plans to support projects with advanced land and grid interconnection positions, allowing construction to initiate before power purchase agreements are finalized, while also providing structured credit solutions to developers.
