Budget airline SpiceJet clears Rs.442-Cr debt; completes equity share allotment to Carlyle Aviation
Budget airline SpiceJet has completed an equity share allotment to Carlyle Aviation Partners, reducing its liabilities by INR 442.25 crore.The agreement also grants the airline USD 79.6 million in cash maintenance reserves earmarked for future aircraft and engine maintenance, together with USD 9.9 million in cash maintenance credits that can be used to offset lease obligations.
Between Feb 2025 and Sep 2024, SpiceJet had attracted about USD 209 M from Avenue Capital, Carlyle, Goldman Sachs and others.
