Canada’s La Caisse invests Rs.12,100-Cr for a 24% stake in Brookfield-backed Altius Telecom
Canada’s La Caisse has invested INR 12,100 crore for a 24% stake in Mumbai-based Altius Telecom Infrastructure Trust . Brookfield remains the largest investor in the platform, alongside La Caisse and existing shareholders affiliated with GIC and British Columbia Investment Management Corporation.Altius provides passive telecom infrastructure and has previously expanded through acquisitions such as ATC India, Summit Digitel, and Crest Digitel. Brookfield serves as the sponsor of the trust, which was originally incorporated by Reliance Industrial Investments and Holdings.Altius owns and operates more than 258,000 telecom towers and sites across the country. The platform plans to use the investment to support growth.
In Jul 2019, Altius Telecom had attracted about $ 3660 M from Brookfield.
