Canada's Ontario Teachers buys out majority stake in Sahyadri Hospitals for Rs.2,500-Cr
Canada-based Ontario Teachers Pension Plan is to acquire a majority stake in Pune-based Sahyadri Hospitals Group from the hospital chain's Private Equity investor Everstone Group, in a deal reportedly valued at INR 2,500 crore. Everstone and key management and founders, will retain minority stakes in the company. Sahyadri has 8 hospitals with around 900 operating beds and 300 critical-care beds. With 2,000 clinicians across its network of hospitals, Sahyadri's facilities are concentrated around the city of Pune. The hospital chain plans to grow capacity by over 500 beds during the next five years.
