Captain Fresh raises Rs.290-Cr from Blue Earth Capital
Bengaluru-based Captain Fresh has raised INR 290 crore in sustainability-linked financing from global impact investor Blue Earth Capital.Founded in 2020 by Utham Gowda, Captain Fresh operates a technology-driven platform integrating seafood sourcing, processing, and distribution, with a digital operating system focusing on traceability and efficiency across the supply chain. The company sells packaged seafood under brands including CenSea, Frime, Koral, Senecrus, ChopServe, Ocean Edge, and Ocean Garden to distributors and retailers in markets such as the US, Europe, the UAE, and India.The new funds will be used to expand its global distribution capabilities and enhance sustainability initiatives across seafood value chains.
Between Aug 2020 and Jan 2025, Captain Fresh had attracted about USD 203 M from Accel India, Alteria Capital, InnoVen Capital, Motilal Oswal Wealth, Prosus Ventures, Tiger Global, VentureSoul Partners, Z47, British International Investment, Evolvence, Stride Ventures, Trifecta Capital, Z47, Ankur Capital, Incubate Fund Asia, ADB, Others,.For FY25, Captain Fresh had reported about INR 349 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 78.90 Cr in Net Loss.
