Carlyle prepares $400-M IPO for auto-parts platform Highway Roop

Carlyle Group has initiated preparations for an initial public offering (IPO) of its Gurugram-based auto-parts platform, Highway Roop Precision Technologies . The firm has engaged Kotak Mahindra Capital, JM Financial, Goldman Sachs, and Nomura as advisors for the proposed share sale, which is expected to raise USD 400-M. The IPO, slated for the first half of 2027, will consist of both primary and secondary shares.Highway Roop Precision Technologies was established by Carlyle in early 2025 through the acquisition of controlling stakes in two auto-component manufacturers, Highway Industries and Roop Automotives. Roop operates as a global producer of hot-forged steering yokes, with an annual production capacity of 38 million units across more than 200 variations.

For FY25, Roop Automotives had reported about INR 582 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 51 Cr in PAT/Net Loss.
