Cell therapy player Eyestem Research raises $10-M in Series B round

Bengaluru-based cell therapy company Eyestem Research has raised USD 10 million in a Series B funding round co-led by Raju Barwale and Sandeep Singh (MD, Alkem Laboratories).Co-founded in 2015 by Jogin Desai, Rajani Battu, and Rajarshi Pal, Eyestem focuses on developing cell replacement therapies for incurable eye diseases.The new funds will be used by the company for the completion of its ongoing Phase 2 clinical trial in India and support preparations for filing an Investigational New Drug (IND) application with the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Between May 2021 and Sep 2022, Eyestem had attracted about USD 7.15- M from Endiya Partners, Kotak Alternate, and others.For FY24, Eyestem had reported about INR 12.18 Cr in Net Loss.
