China’s Envision Group acquires 12% in Tata Group’s EV battery co. Agratas for Rs.66-Cr
Mumbai-based Agratas Energy Storage Solutions Pvt. Ltd , the electric vehicle battery subsidiary of the Tata Group, has attracted approximately INR 66 crore (in return for a 12% stake) from Japan-based AESC (part of the China-based Envision Group). Following the deal, AESC’s General Counsel has joined the Agratas board of directors.Founded in 2023, Agratas manufactures EV batteries for Tata Group’s automotive ventures and is expected to supply to global clients, including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Renault-Nissan, and Honda.
