CineNow raising Rs.1,350-Cr fund for film financing

British Virgin Islands-based CineNow is in the process of closing a fund of INR 1,350 crore to finance films in India. The close-ended fund has a tenure of 6 years and has received commitments from overseas investors and family offices.Founded by director Rohit Dalmia, the firm focuses on transforming film intellectual property into a structured asset, using a secured participation fund that provides exposure to a curated slate of films rather than individual titles. The firm has appointed Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty and Abhay Sinha as founding members of its strategic council.The company plans to use the capital to support more than 30 films and content properties across various genres and languages. CineNow also intends to apply tokenisation to its investment platform to improve liquidity, transparency, and accessibility for investors, while ensuring intellectual property ownership remains with creators and production partners.
