Clean energy co. Greenko raises Rs.600-Cr in debt from Broad Peak, JP Morgan
Hyderabad-headquartered clean-energy group Greenko has raised around INR 600 crore through privately placed rupee-denominated bonds subscribed by Broad Peak Investment Advisors and JP Morgan.The 23-month senior secured non-convertible debentures (NCDs) are priced at 12.5%. The proceeds will be used to repay existing inter-company loans.The fundraise comes as Greenko begins commissioning multiple large-scale storage assets. It is developing an Integrated Renewable Energy Storage Project (IRESP) in Rajasthan, comprising a 1,800 MW pumped-storage plant in Baran district and solar and wind parks of 3.6 GW and 0.9 GW, respectively, in Pali district.Greenko has been active in refinancing over the past year, including the rollover of USD 425 million in corporate debt through USD 525 million in August 2024 and the refinancing of USD 1.035 Billion for one of its projects through domestic lenders.
