Climate Tech startup Umagine Hydrogen raises $850-K led by Venture Catalysts
Ahmedabad-based Umagine Hydrogen Pvt. Ltd ., branded as H2 Carbon Zero, has raised USD 850,000 in a seed funding round led by Venture Catalysts, with participation from Faad Networks.Founded by chemical engineer Santosh Gurunath and civil engineer Laxmikant Banjarey, H2 Carbon Zero is a deep-tech manufacturer specializing in modular, stackable fuel-cell systems for stationary power generation. The company designs and manufactures fuel cell systems that range from sub-kilowatt modules for defence equipment to multi-megawatt blocks for grid-scale, long-duration storage.The new capital raised will be used to accelerate the company’s plans to build a gigawatt-scale factory focused on hydrogen fuel cells.
