CX Partners to exit from Thalappakatti restaurant chain

Private Equity firm CX Partners has initiated the process to exit its majority stake in Tamil Nadu-based Thalappakatti Hotels. The transaction is being advised by Advay Capital and is expected to value the restaurant operator at about INR 1,000-Cr. The exit may involve a combination of primary and secondary share purchases depending on the incoming investor.Founded in 1957 in Dindigul, Tamil Nadu, by Nagasamy Naidu, the company operates the Dindigul Thalappakatti brand, known for its Dindigul-style biryani. The restaurant chain is led by third-generation entrepreneur and managing director Nagasamy Dhanabalan and maintains a network of over 100 outlets, primarily in Southern India.

Between Oct 2019 and Sep 2021, Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurants had attracted about $45 M from CX Partners, Tree Line Asia and others.For FY25, Dindigul Thalappakatti Restaurants had reported about INR 469 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 13 Cr in PAT.
