D2C brands firm Mensa raises $10-M from Tiger Global
Bangalore-based “Thrasio style†D2C products firm Mensa Brands has raised USD 10 million from Tiger Global in return for a 4.12 % stake. This tranche values the company at 28.2% more compared to August when it had attracted USD 33 million co-led by Alpha Wave Incubation (AWI) and Norwest with participation from Accel India. Bergwelt, which represents co-founders of Mensa, now owns 46.80% of the six-month-old firm. Mensa will acquire direct-to-consumer or D2C brands in three verticals (home, lifestyle and beauty) with revenue between USD 1.5 and 10 million. The firm plans to acquire 50 brands over the next few years and competes with GlobalBees, GOAT Brand Labs, 10club, Powerhouse91, Upscalio and Evenflow.
