D2C Cookware retailer The Indus Valley raises $17-M led by Gaja Capital

Chennai-based D2C cookware products retailer The Indus Valley has raised USD 17 million in a funding round led by Gaja Capital, with participation from existing investors including DSG Consumer Partners, Rukam Capital and TCA (formerly The Chennai Angels). The transaction involves a mix of primary capital infusion and a secondary sale of shares by early investors.Founded by Madhumitha Uday Kumar and Jagadeesh Kumar, the company makes and retails toxin-free cookware products. The firm plans to use the new funds to expand into new product categories, strengthen its omnichannel distribution network, and invest in brand marketing.

Between Jun 2021 and Nov 2024, The Indus Valley had attracted about $ 6 M from DSG Consumer Partners, Rukam Capital, White Whale Ventures and others.For FY25, The Indus Valley had reported about INR 114 Cr in Operating Income and about INR 2 Cr in Net Loss.
