D2C Insider in talks to launch Rs.150-Cr early-stage fund ‘ConsumerX Ventures’
Gurugram-based D2C (direct-to-consumer) founders' community, D2C Insider , is set to launch ConsumerX Ventures, a Category II alternative investment fund (AIF). The fund is currently in talks to secure an anchor investor.ConsumerX Ventures will target a corpus of INR 150 crore to support 25 early-stage D2C brands and enablers at the pre-seed and seed stages. The firm intends to write average cheques of INR 3-5 crore for a 10-15% ownership, with 40% of its corpus reserved for follow-on capital to support top-performing startups. Abhishek Shah, Chief Evangelist at D2C Insider, will serve as the Managing Partner of ConsumerX Ventures, while Chhavi Bhardwaj Kargaonkar will join as a Partner.This initiative follows the deployment of the D2C Insider Super Angels Fund, a Category I AIF with a corpus of INR 25 crore backed by over 70 operator limited partners, which has already invested in 16 startups including Basil, Pikndel, Samosa Party, and Crest.
